Outlet Pal Light Indicators

The Basics: One Light, One Button

Your Outlet Pal has one button and one indicator light. Together, they control everything from setup to troubleshooting.

You can double-click, triple-click, or long press the button to trigger actions. The light gives you feedback in real time so you always know what state your device is in.

Leader Device Indicators

When an Outlet Pal is set to Leader mode, it’s the one connected to your switched outlet. It sends commands wirelessly to all paired Followers so they turn on and off together.

Here’s what the light on your Leader means:

Solid On — Normal Operation
If the light indicator steadily remains on then that means your Outlet Pal is acting as a leader Leader and controlling your network. When power is flowing through your switched outlet, your Leader's light stays on, and all paired Followers mirror it.

Follower Device Indicators

Followers are the Outlet Pal units plugged into regular outlets that listen to the Leader’s wireless commands. They turn on and off in sync with your Leader.

Here’s what the light on your Follower means:

Off — Not Paired
No light means your Follower isn’t connected yet. This is its default state right out of the box or after unpairing. Plug it in and double-click the button to start pairing mode.

Blinking — Looking for a Leader
When the light blinks, your Follower is searching for a Leader to connect with. This happens after you double-click it to enter pairing mode. If no Leader responds within about 30 seconds, the blinking will stop and the light turns off again.

Pulsing — Paired and Working
A soft, rhythmic pulse means your Follower is successfully paired and responding to its Leader. When your Leader turns on, the Follower’s relay closes and your lamp or appliance receives power. If the Leader turns off, the Follower also shuts off automatically.
